More than 125 people involved in the death pressure at the Astroworld music festival have sued rapper Travis Scott and other organizers for $ 750 million ($ 556 million)
According to TMZ, this lawsuit filed by Houston lawyer Tony Buzby is the first of many lawsuits and requires Travis and the concert organizers to be responsible for this huge tragedy.
Among the plaintiffs in the lawsuit are the family of 21-year-old Axel Acosta, who died of his injuries after people from a crowd of about 50,000 began to take the stage. In addition to Buzby’s $ 750 million lawsuit, Travis Scott is also facing a lawsuit from the family of nine-year-old Ezra Blount, who died from drug-induced coma injuries, Newsweek reported
Documents filed also mention the organizers of the Live Nation Festival; tech giant Apple, which broadcast the concert; record companies Scott Epic and Cactus Jack; the operators of the NRG Park headquarters in Houston; and companies providing security and medical services.
Other defendants in the multimillion-dollar lawsuit include Apple Music, Lie Nation, Scotts Cactus Jack Records and Tristar Sports & Entertainment Group.
On Friday, attorney Ben Crump, best known for representing George Floyd and Trayvon Martin, filed a lawsuit on behalf of more than 90 people who attended Travis Scott’s concert, Deadline reported. The New York Post reported Friday that at least 108 lawsuits have been filed in connection with the Scotts concert. Meanwhile, lawyers Ben Crump and Alex Hilliard have filed lawsuits on behalf of 90 other victims of the deadly Astroworld festival.
The wave of casualties began about 30 minutes before Scott’s 9pm. performance. The victims of this event stated that there was a wave of the crowd, due to which people fell into traps, trampled them and suffocated them. During the 2019 festival, three fans were injured in a similar mass event.
