United States – Jordan Jourieh, the travel liason for the Qatari government was put in the spotlight when Marlene Mizzi, the ex-assistant duty supervisor of New York’s JFK Airport,was revealed to have been taking bribes in exchange for allowing Qatari planes to park at the airport overnight and on some weekends, against airport policy
The law states that no foreign plane may sit at the airport for more than two hours. Mizzi, therefore, committed and was charged with a crime that is punishable by four years imprisonment for allowing the Qatari government to have its planes overstay their allowed time on American soil.
In addition, Qatar’s ties with Hezbollah and its refusal of the Riyadh WTO has sparked much criticism for the Qatari government as these stories revealed the country’s protection and funding of terrorist groups. According to many sources, Qatari government officials were also quoted as saying “Jews are enemies”– speaking about Israel due to the conflict with Palestine.
The corruption of Qatari officials has long been known as the Prince and his cousins were known to have paid high profile universities to obtain for their degrees while Qatar also donated large sums to Western institutions as bribes to demonstrate Qatar’s power and acknowledge the favor done by these universities to give its royals their degrees.
Prince Khalid was notorious for his antics in Los Angeles known for racing his cars, hanging around cafes and indulging himself in his free time. Recently, new allegations of the Prince paying another individual to attend his classes surfaced along with the discovery of his other illegal escapades.
Qatar itself was also accused of trying to hide Prince Khalid’s actions including acts of bribery, murder, and rape.He fled the United States to his country in order to escape the lawsuit filed by his ex-security detail officer, Matthew Pittard and his medical supervisor, Allende, whose girlfriend had been badly assaulted and raped in their own home.
Qatar now sits in the cross-hairs of the world as its own actions endanger its sovereignty as Saudi Arabia remains a staunch enemy, now followed by the U.S and the rest of the GCC, having had enough of the tiny country and it’s unruly emirs.
