After an unfortunate delay due to COVID-19, the Dubai Expo has finally opened, with a record 192 countries being represented.

The iconic event has begun just a few days ago, but there is something truly unique about this years expo, it features a whopping 192 countries.

For the first time in World Expo history, every participating country will have its own pavilion. Discover what makes each country unique.
Atefeh Wieckhorst, 48, a German doctor in Dubai on holiday with her family, said there was no way she could miss the world’s fair when she realised it would coincide with her holiday.
“We are only here for a short while but I am determined to visit as many county pavilions as I can,” she said.
“It’s a great opportunity to learn about new countries and I hope to be back before we leave.”

Expo 2020’s masterful Opening Ceremony unites millions around the world.
Aside from the 3,000-strong audience inside Al Wasl Plaza, millions across the globe tuned in to virtually view the eagerly awaited event. With the golden ring of connectivity – the inspiration for the Expo 2020 Dubai logo – raised to the trellis of the magnificent Al Wasl Plaza, the beating heart of the Expo site and the spectacular setting for the captivating ceremony, the most inclusive World Expo ever was officially underway.
In addition to music from some of the most influential artists on the planet and a beautiful live orchestra, a sensory overload of powerful visuals was beamed across Al Wasl Plaza’s dome, the world’s largest 360-degree projection screen. More than 3,000 lighting fixtures, 1,000 speakers, 1,300 costumes and buckets of passion and emotion from every one of the 1,000-plus participating performers and volunteers also contributed to a one-of-a-kind spectacle of masterful artistic collaboration.

A beautiful sign of peace in the middle east: For the first time, Israel inaugurated its pavilion on Friday for the second day of Expo 2020 Dubai after Thursday night’s opening ceremony.
Minister Razvozov said in his opening remarks: “I’m truly delighted to be standing here as a representative of the Israeli people and the Israeli government at the opening of Israel’s National Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.
“Many things are happening here for the first time. For the first time in history, the Expo fair is being held in an Arab country. It is also the first time there is an Israeli pavilion in a major fair on Arab soil. It is one of the most sound and robust steps towards cooperation between the United Arab Emirates and Israel in history.”

May all the countries at this years expo find their success in representing the uniqueness each one has to offer.
